These soft, golden dough balls are each stuffed with a cube of melty brie and a spoonful of cranberry sauce. They’re brushed with butter and sprinkled with sesame seeds, which makes them an easy holiday appetizer to share.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons Fleischmann’s Quick Rise Plus Instant Yeast
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup water, warm to touch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Cranberry sauce, homemade or store bought
  • Brie Cheese, cubed
  • Melted butter, to finish
  • Sesame seeds, to finish

Method

Cranberry Brie Dough Balls
  1. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper & set aside. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook attachment add Fleischmann’s Quick Rise Plus Yeast, honey, olive oil & water. Once yeast is foamy add the salt & flour. Knead until dough is smooth & elastic, about 8 minutes.

  2. Shape into a ball, cover & let rise until doubled in size, about 45 minutes. Evenly divide dough into 16 pieces & stretch into a 4-inch circle.

  3. Add a teaspoon of cranberry sauce & a cube of brie cheese. Carefully fold over the edges & pinch them together. Shape until a ball is formed. Transfer to prepared baking sheets, 8 per sheet.

  4. Heat oven to 400(f) degrees. Brush dough with melted butter & finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Bake for 20 to 22 minutes, until golden & cooked throughout. Serve warm or room temperature.
